AIM Academy is excited to announce the opening of a School Nurse position for the 2026–2027 school year. AIM is a college-preparatory school specializing in the education of students with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and executive functioning challenges. With approximately 400 students in grades 1 through 12, the School Nurse position is a vital part of AIM’s growing community. This position is part of a collaborative team of two nurses serving the physical health and well-being of all AIM students. This team is responsible for the daily operations of the School Health Office and is a key part of the Health and Safety Committee.
This is a full time, 10-month position with benefits. Hours are 9:00am - 4:45pm. Start date for new faculty/staff is August 26, 2026.

Responsibilities:
Daily operations of the Health Office, including but not limited to:
Assessment and treatment of illness/injury, either in office or at another location on campus
Provision of timed/scheduled and emergency medications in accordance with student health records/releases
Communication with parents and/or faculty/staff as needed
Consultation with other professionals where there appears to be evidence of medical issues which impact student performance and social interaction
Adherence to all Health Office protocols, including documentation of every student seeking health services, collaboration with HR in the case of a worksite injury to faculty/staff, and preparation of incident reports for cases involving unusual or violent injury
Collection and maintenance of annual student health documents and routine checks for medical information in need of updated documentation
Collection, organization, and transfer to head chaperone of medication records, emergency action plans, self-administration forms, and physical medications for all school-day and overnight field trips, along with a collaborative approach with trip leaders across all three divisions
Responsibility for arranging training for faculty and staff in CPR, First Aid, Use of Emergency Medication (e.g., Epi-Pens, Seizure Response) and Blood Borne Pathogen protocols.
Support Director of Athletics in developing and maintaining health and safety systems and protocols for student athletes
As needed, a member of the Health Office team will be designated by the Assistant Head of School to:
Regarding community, regional, or national health data:
Act as key member of AIM Health and Safety Committee, attending meetings and/or reviewing notes, following up on action items, and participating in supportive discussion around relevant topics
Ensure continued certification and licensure from all relevant authorities
Maintenance of confidentiality and best practices in accordance with AIM and HIPAA/FERPA guidelines
Qualifications:
All proper licensure, certifications, and clearances to work as a school nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Bachelor’s Degree Required
PA Registered Nurse Licensure
CPR
First Aid
Mandated CEUs to maintain PA license
Preferred national school nurse certification to ensure quality practice and demonstrate knowledge of the complex health needs of students

Child abuse clearance
Criminal Background check
Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check
School Personnel Health Record with current Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test
