Are you passionate about supporting students during some of the most formative years of their lives? The Meadows School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and student centered Upper School Counselor to join our community for the 2026–2027 academic year.
At The Meadows School, we believe that student success is rooted in strong social emotional well-being. Our counselors play a vital role in helping students navigate academic pressures, personal development, and the complex social dynamics of high school. Located on our beautiful 40-acre campus in Summerlin, Nevada, The Meadows School serves approximately 1,000 students from PreK through 12th grade and is known for its commitment to intellectual curiosity, character development, and a supportive community.
As part of our counseling team, you will help foster a safe, supportive environment where students can grow into confident, resilient young adults.
What You'll Do:
As the Upper School Counselor, you will support students’ social, emotional, and developmental needs while collaborating closely with faculty, administrators, and families:
Student Support: Serve as a trusted and approachable presence for students, building meaningful relationships and creating a safe space where they feel heard, supported, and valued
Foster Growth: Partner with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being, address concerns, and develop appropriate intervention strategies when needed
Build Community: Participate in student support meetings, collaborate with the counseling and administrative teams, and contribute to a positive and inclusive Upper School culture
Engage in Professional Excellence: Contribute thoughtfully to a collaborative professional culture, modeling integrity, discretion, and a commitment to continuous learning in service of student well-being and the mission of the school
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, empathetic, and student centered professional who understands the developmental needs of students and values building meaningful relationships within a vibrant school community. This person approaches their work with warmth, discretion, and sound judgment, recognizing that the most effective support often begins with trust and connection. They are a visible and approachable presence in the Upper School, actively engaging with students throughout the day in hallways, common spaces, classrooms, and at school events helping to foster a culture where students feel known, supported, and comfortable seeking guidance.:
Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
3–5 years of experience working with adolescents, preferably in a school setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and faculty
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
Experience supporting student mental health and social-emotional learning
A collaborative mindset and commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment
