The Counselor reports to the Heads of Lower School and Middle School, and is a consultant to the administration and a member of the LS/MS leadership team. The school counselor is a vital member of the team in the education of the whole child. The school counselor serves as a resource for proactively cultivating the mental health of the learning community. The school counselor works strategically to promote student success and partners with students, families, administrators, teachers, staff, and professionals in the community to address concerns and issues that have a substantial impact on students’ academic, personal and social development. The counselor serves as program leader of the school counseling and social emotional learning programs of the school and supports the academic programs of the school. This requires the counselor to be fully immersed in every aspect of the school, integrating into the daily lives of students and the K-8 experience.
The counselor will lead the school’s mental health awareness and wellness, social skills and character education initiatives, designing and facilitating programs and activities that are developmentally appropriate.

College graduate degree required in area or related area to job description and responsibilities. School leadership experience is desired.
