Position
Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking a part-time school nurse or nurse practitioner to work with the existing full-time school nurse in promoting a healthy school environment and support the school’s health and safety plans across its three divisions.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 10:30a.m.- 2:30p.m.
Responsibilities
Assists the full-time nurse with students’ care, illnesses, and injuries
Follows Ohio Department of Health guidelines for control of communicable diseases
Executes school health procedures and policies
Maintains student health data
Conducts age-appropriate, required health screenings, and notifies parents when referral for further evaluation is necessary
Dispenses prescription medication according to physicians’ orders. Dispenses over-the-counter medication according to standing orders with parent permission. Trains designated staff on administering prescription, over-the-counter, and emergency medications
Oversees nursing supplies are properly stocked/inventoried
Protects confidential health information as it pertains to any applicable HIPAA, FERPA, or other requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Registered nurse, licensed to practice in Ohio
Bachelor’s degree
Experience as a school, pediatric, and/or public health nurse preferred
CPR and AED certification preferred
Knowledge of school health programs such as immunization and other requirements
Understanding of pediatric growth and development, allergies, and behavioral health
Proficiency in computer operation, including various software applications, including Magnus
Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making
Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents
Strong organizational and planning skills
Passionate and loving attitude toward children of all ages
Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
