Position

Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking a part-time school nurse or nurse practitioner to work with the existing full-time school nurse in promoting a healthy school environment and support the school’s health and safety plans across its three divisions.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 10:30a.m.- 2:30p.m.

Responsibilities

• Assists the full-time nurse with students’ care, illnesses, and injuries
• Follows Ohio Department of Health guidelines for control of communicable diseases
• Executes school health procedures and policies
• Maintains student health data
• Conducts age-appropriate, required health screenings, and notifies parents when referral for further evaluation is necessary
• Dispenses prescription medication according to physicians’ orders. Dispenses over-the-counter medication according to standing orders with parent permission. Trains designated staff on administering prescription, over-the-counter, and emergency medications
• Oversees nursing supplies are properly stocked/inventoried
• Protects confidential health information as it pertains to any applicable HIPAA, FERPA, or other requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Registered nurse, licensed to practice in Ohio
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience as a school, pediatric, and/or public health nurse preferred
• CPR and AED certification preferred
• Knowledge of school health programs such as immunization and other requirements
• Understanding of pediatric growth and development, allergies, and behavioral health
• Proficiency in computer operation, including various software applications, including Magnus
• Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Passionate and loving attitude toward children of all ages
• Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
