Rippowam Cisqua School seeks a qualified part-time Lower School Counselor/Psychologist focusing on the needs of students in PreKindergarten (beginning from age three) through fourth grade.
Responsibilities for the position include:
- Actively participates in support team, faculty, and division meetings alongside learning specialists, administrators, and classroom teachers to address student concerns
- Reports directly to the Head of Lower School and Director of Child Development as he or she supports the mission of the School
- Provides conflict resolution and crisis intervention and performs other related tasks as assigned by the administration such as parent workshops or broader communications
- Performs student observations as part of a support team and communicates findings and support techniques with teaching and administrative team
- Conducts workshops for students on developmentally appropriate SEL topics such as kindness, communication, personal space, digital citizenship amongst others as they arise
- Serves as a resource for parents, families, and faculty
- Serves as consult for families in selecting outside providers in the larger support community
Requirements for the position include:
- Advanced degree in a clinical program (PsyD, PhD, SW, or LMHC) and ability to be on campus at least four mornings per week (~20 hours/week). Exact hours will be discussed.
- Expertise in Development Ages 0-10 with a particular focus on Early Childhood students
- Knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments and using data to understand developmental norms and intervention
- Experience with interpreting the practical implementations of educational testing
- A commitment to an inclusive school community
- A joyful disposition, a genuine sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and a sincere interest in being part of a team
This is a part-time, exempt position with compensation ranging from $45,000 to $65,000, depending on experience and structure of time on campus.
