K-5 Physical Education Teacher

Part-Time

Temporary Non-Exempt

Reports To: Head of School

Work Schedule

Monday-Thursday 12:00-2:00

Friday 11:00-2:00

Salary: $33.36

Summary of Position:

The Children's School follows a constructivist model of education for Toddler through 5th grade programs The K-5 P.E. teacher works closely with Head and support teachers and Administrative Team to plan and implement Physical Education curriculum across kindergarten-5th grade programs and supports Lunch hour recess periods.

Representative Duties

• The K-5 PE Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate P.E, curriculum to all K-5 students and supports recess periods.
  

• Uses social emotional curriculum to support, supervise, and ensure the safety and well-being of children in the program.
  

• Maintains active and open communication with Head classroom teachers of the children in need of additional support and with the other members of the Children's School staff.
  

Requirements

• Three or more years recent successful teaching experience preferred
  

• BA degree in education or related field preferred
  

• California State Multiple Subjects Credential preferred
  

• Knowledge of a Constructivist, Experiential model of education
  

• Commit to an inclusive, culturally sustaining education model
  

• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  

• Ability to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment
  

• Position is contingent upon fingerprinting/background check clearance and tuberculosis clearance.
