Compensation: $32.00 to $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Crane Country Day School seeks a full-time School Nurse. The successful candidate will be an energetic and outgoing individual with an ability to collaborate and partner with other members of the Crane Staffulty. We are seeking an individual with medical experience who enjoys working with children and in a school environment. The ideal candidate will engage the entire Crane community in fostering a health-conscious and safe campus.

Duties and Responsibilities
Administer basic first aid, CPR, and routine or emergency care and treatment to Crane students and staff
Develop and maintain Crane health protocols, provide or seek short term care and emergency medical assistance when required, documenting and reporting care that is provided, and reviewing standards of care
Reconcile and maintain student health records, including cumulative health and immunization records
Collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure policies and procedures to manage possible COVID-19 exposures are consistent with public health guidance as well as Crane school policies and procedures
Dispense medications based on established procedures; maintain related documents and records, including cumulative health and immunization records
Maintain inventory of first aid and medical supplies, including distributing and replenishing first aid kits for campus and field trips
Review physician and nurse practitioner orders and notes and implement as instructed and appropriate
Engage and liaison with Crane families
Develop and participate in health education initiatives for students and staff
Protect confidentiality of student medical and health information
Ensure compliance with State regulations as pertaining to reporting, licensing and provision of any health care related services
Maintain up-to-date credentials and certifications for position
Perform duties and responsibilities in a professional manner
Apply anti-racist, liberatory practices and principles in all aspects of the role from classroom management to curriculum development
Demonstrate and support a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
Collaborate with co-teacher and other Staffulty members to support student growth
Monitor and report on student growth and progress
Continually seek educational opportunities to develop professional knowledge and skills
Attend all required staff meetings and special events
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations
Requirements and Qualifications
Valid CA Vocational Nursing (LVN) license or Registered Nurse (RN) license
A bachelor’s degree or associates degree
School Nurse Certificate and Public Health Certificate are desirable
Must hold a valid Class C driver’s license
Physical and Other Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking in classroom and throughout campus
Occasionally lift 15-45 pounds
Regularly sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children
Work in person on-site
Background investigation required via Live Scan.
TB assessment required for employment in CA schools.
