Position Summary:
Léman Manhattan is now seeking a LPN, or Registered Nurse (RN) for its Residential Life program. This position involves overseeing all tasks related to boarding students’ health and wellness. The Residential Life Nurse is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment while ensuring that all students’ medical needs and state requirements are met.
This position typically works Monday-Friday with a daily 7:30 AM start time. This is a live-out position that reports to the Director of Residential Life.
Duties and Responsibilities
Triage and assess student symptoms and apply the appropriate nursing interventions
Create and carry out student care plans, including scheduling doctor’s appointments, medication management, and follow-up care
Complete thorough and timely electronic treatment notes
Ensure student health records are up to date and correct; track immunizations, physicals, prescribed medications, allergy/diabetes/asthma action plans, and other medical alerts
Regularly communicate with student families and school support staff when necessary
Create educational materials and programming to support the development of healthy behaviors while students learn to live independently in a residential environment
Assist in ensuring that the Residential Life program is a safe environment and promotes healthy behaviors
Maintain inventory and stock levels for medical materials and supplies
Assist students with insurance paperwork and ensure efficient processing of claims
Assist with managing medical emergencies while on duty
Attends staff and school meetings as scheduled
Other duties as assigned when necessary and directly supervised by the Director of Residential Life
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
LPN, or Registered Nursing (RN) degree from an accredited nursing school
Minimum 2 years working in a school, university, or residential setting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with electronic medical records
Ability to work in collaboration with non-medical Residential Life Staff team members
Strong communication skills with a kind and supportive demeanor
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
CPR/AED certified
Experience working with English language learning (ELL) students
Proficiency in a second language
Experience working with adolescent age students
Experience in case management
Passion for working with international high school students
Experience with Magnus Health and/or Orah
Knowledge of Google Workspace (Drive, Docs & Sheets) and Microsoft Office
Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, or walking in various settings
Occasionally move items weighing up to 50 pounds
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range is $85,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience
