Our curriculum is centered around the idea that all skills can be learned at the fundamental level and used to create a positive impression of movement throughout the lives of student-athletes.
We currently have two position open in our Physical Literacy department at Pilgrim, teaching a range of classes from kindergarten through 12th grade. The position offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team of educators with a focus on innovation in teaching and learning.Candidates should have a strong physical education and teaching background, and be committed to working with K-12 students.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Design and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons to students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Facilitate team sports and fitness activities.
Promote a culture of physical wellness and healthy lifestyle choices.
Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and school administration.
Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to identify student needs and provide support to help students develop the necessary skills to be successful in physical education.
Collaborate with the Physical Literacy department to design and implement physical education curriculum that aligns with the school's educational philosophy.
Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current in physical education trends and practices.
Serve as a coach or assistant coach for athletic teams as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field required.
Valid teaching credential in Physical Education is preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience teaching physical education at the K-12 level preferred.
Knowledge of physical education curriculum development, instruction, and assessment.
Ability to design and implement physical education curriculum that aligns with the school's educational philosophy.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to identify student needs and provide support to help students develop the necessary skills to be successful in physical education.
