Previous school counseling experience is preferred, and state licensure (counseling or social work) in Colorado is required. Professional Qualifications
A minimum of a master’s degree in counseling or social work
3+ years counseling experience with teens, or equivalent
Knowledge of child welfare mandates, including mandatory reporting and follow up procedures
Demonstrated classroom management skills
Personal warmth and friendliness
An attitude that exemplifies teamwork and personal responsibility
Ability to include technology elements into all aspects of instruction
Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters

Duties
Report to Director of Middle School
Respond to students in emotional distress as needed, including safety assessments and in consultation with advisors, teachers and the Director of Middle School.
Connect with outside therapists working with middle school students to ensure continuity of care
Develop and implement sexual health and human development curriculum appropriate for grades 6-8
Serves as a resource for students, faculty, administrators, and parents to understand social, emotional, behavioral, and personal needs of students.
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to Middle School students
Participate in class trips, clubs, and Winterim expeditions
Additional duties as deemed necessary by the School
The salary range for this ten-month position is $45,000 - $75,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience, relevant skills, and hours worked. Benefits include Medical, Dental, 401k, and generous time-off.
