Departmental Overview
The University Health Services, Tang Center works to promote a campus that actively cultivates better health and well being. UHS provides comprehensive medical, mental health, insurance and health promotion services to all Berkeley students, and a variety of health programs for faculty and staff. In addition, UHS UHS encourages and expands wellness opportunities at the multiple levels of campus policy, infrastructure, institutional practices, and individual choice.

Responsibilities
Leads Health Coaching program and provides individual health coaching sessions in three categories: - General well-being health coaching, focusing on healthy lifestyles, self-empowerment and decision-making. - Focused work on Exercise is Medicine; providing physical activity behavior change support for students at higher risk for health/mental health issues. - Executive Functioning coaching for students with ADHD diagnoses or with related symptoms.
Plans, implements, and evaluates outreach strategies for general well-being and Exercise is Medicine with a particular focus on innovative strategies for Black students and graduate students.
Topics include but are not limited to: healthy eating options, exercise and movement, creativity and resilience, anti-racist wellness strategies, and student resilience.
Maintain innovative Bears Bounce Back program outreach program, designed to support students to lead resilience discussions with their peers.
Engages participation with physicians, staff, and patients through outreach presentations, marketing materials, and focus group discussions to ensure that the program is accessible to providers and participants.
Creates and implements complex studies of the effectiveness of health promotion programs addressing stress management, well-being, exercise, and racism and health.
Supports unit accessibility and systems through implementing key administrative processes, with a focus on patient privacy structures.
Develop, lead, and actively participate in unit strategic planning, professional development training, and other team building activities.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of, and at least 3 years experience providing, health coaching on general well-being issues.Familiarity with Executive Functioning health coaching.
Thorough knowledge of the health promotion in higher-education field.
Knowledge of behavior change strategies for a college-age population.
Knowledge of public health theories and practices.
Thorough knowledge of the design and delivery of health programs to address health equity.
Skills associated with the development and delivery of health education programs to improve student self-efficacy in managing health choices, and identify campus culture issues that impact student health.
Effective interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups in the college population.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, diverse, team environment. Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Health coaching certification strongly preferred.
Training and experience with performing Executive Functioning health coaching. Education
Master's degree preferred.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, eligible for full UC benefits.
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $62,300.00-$90,700.00.

Other Information
Your employment is dependent on obtaining and maintaining a credentialing clearance (if applicable), background clearance and medical clearance according to University Health Service policies.
Work Schedule M-F, 8 am -12 pm and 1-5 pm, some remote work available.
