The purpose of the position is to support for the teaching activities of the School of Dentistry, that encompasses the basic sciences components of the Predoctoral Dental School curriculum. The Predoctoral Dental curriculum is a four-year program with approximately 60 students in each class year or approximately 240 students. This position is responsible for producing and managing course materials and examinations, providing technological support for all aspects of the curriculum, maintaining grade records, and working closely with course faculty on all aspects of design, delivery and assessment of the courses.
A large component is supporting online systems, including the Collaborative Learning Environment (online course management system), Ilios, Examsoft, E*Value, Qualtrics and others. The coordinator will collaborate with UCSF campus educational technology resources and must be current and proficient in the online curriculum tools used by the School of Dentistry. This position will provide technical know-how and support to students and teaching faculty on the online systems. The coordinator will manage the examination scheduling process for all biomedical coursework primarily offered during the first and second years of the curriculum in the School of Dentistry. This includes course preparation, uploading of materials to the CLE, and overseeing (proctoring) online exams.
