The Williston Northampton School, an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton, Massachusetts, is a culturally diverse educational community serving students in grades 7-12. We are seeking to fill the position of Lead School Counselor. The Lead SchoolCounselor will promote student success, provide preventative services, and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career and personal/social development for all students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: meeting in-person with students unless otherwise mandated; working with the Director of Health and Wellness and the Dean of Students to identify potential struggling students; supporting and encouraging struggling students, helping them gain perspective; consulting and collaborating with parents/guardians, teachers and administrators; conducting structure, goal-oriented sessions to groups of students; assisting with development of Faculty/Staff implemented interventions; assisting in interpreting and understanding student data and testing; providing psychological evaluation and brief intermittent counseling to students and families. The Lead School Counselor will be required to attend regular faculty meetings and serve as a member of the weekend duty team.
