Purpose: The primary purpose of the Assistant Physical Education teacher is to provide leadership, coordinate, implement and help maintain all athletic programs and physical education curriculum for the lower, middle and upper schools.
Characteristics/Qualities: The following qualities/characteristics are expected of every Winston School Educator:
*Assist in teaching K-12 physical education, delivering instruction aligned with Winston’s Statement of Educational Philosophy.
*Develop, administer and assess athletic programs that align with the School’s mission
*Develop K-12 physical education and athletic curriculum with AD
*Act as a liaison to TAPPS & IAA with compliance of TAPPS/IAA rules and regulations
*Help supervise department scheduling of on and off campus field and facility usage.
*Establish and maintain systems of communication for students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff and administration regarding schedules, policies, and other related updates.
*Ability to coach sports throughout the school year.
*Maintain a positive relationship with faculty, other schools, and community.
*Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration, physical education, or a related discipline is required, Master’s degree preferred.
*Minimum of 3 years of athletic management or classroom experience and prior proven successful experience in physical education/athletic administration strongly preferred.
*Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a proficiency in applicable technology and dynamic interpersonal skills.
