Reports To: Lower School and Middle School Division Heads
Full Time, 10-month position, Starting August 1
All Saints’ Episcopal Day School in Central Phoenix seeks a School Counselor, beginning in August of 2021. The candidate for this full-time position will join an exceptional and talented faculty and work with bright, motivated, and engaging students. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role and be a collaborative and positive individual.
Serve as primary support for students, faculty, staff, and parents
Instruct Life Skills classes for all students
Interact and be available to students regularly
Facilitate and manage the implementation of the Sanford Harmony school-wide social and emotional learning program.
Provide and coordinate professional development for faculty and staff
Plan instructional activities in collaboration with departmental colleagues, attending regular collaborative planning meetings
Initiate and plan parent education events and activities
Attend regular collaborative planning meetings
Provide before-school or after-school counseling service to students, parents, faculty, and staff as needed
Be a leading member of the diversity and equity groups on campus
Counseling Role and Support
Serve as a counselor to students in lower and middle school (meet with students regularly and as needed) and provide ongoing support in and outside of the classroom
Work collaboratively with the administration, faculty, learning services department, and parents to support students by creating plans and implementing them
Help cultivate a positive community culture and climate
Be available to students, parents, faculty, and staff before and after school
Create and manage online Counseling Tile regularly
Maintain timely and proactive communication with parents and colleagues
Attend meetings and participate in committees as directed by the Head of Middle School or Head of School
Abide by the spirit and policies in the Employee Handbook, Lower School and Middle School Faculty Handbook
Work with outside organizations as needed
Provide detailed records and documentation as needed
Cultivate a student-centered learning environment, creating an atmosphere of mutual respect
Demonstrate a passion for subject content, mastery, and love of learning
Implement curriculum and revise as necessary to meet the current needs of students
Maintain an organized lesson plan book (subject matter outline, daily lesson plans, assessments, etc.)
Integrate and use technology to enhance student learning and achievement
Prepare grade reports, progress reports, attendance reports, counselor reports, and other such reports promptly and in accordance with school policy or at the request of the Division Head
View themselves as a growth-minded practitioner and commit to regular professional development (reading, conferences, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree in counseling, M.A. preferred
Minimum of three years of School Counseling experience
Subject-specific education or training
Ability to connect well with others, including students, parents, colleagues, and administrative staff
Creativity, positivity, and passion for child development and working with children and adults
An appreciation for and an understanding of the social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs of the elementary-age children
Ability to promote and maintain a collegial, educational environment throughout the campus
Ability to utilize and integrate technology into instruction
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration
Ability to participate in the ASEDS community activities outside of school hours
Skills at documentation, detail-oriented
