The University of Northern Iowa is seeking a renewable term instructor in School Health Education Teaching within the Department of Health, Recreation and Community Services in the College of Education. The position involves teaching elementary and secondary health education methods and curriculum courses including the health content within multiple sections of the Health and PE for Elementary Teachers courses. The Health and PE for Elementary Teachers course is required by the state of Iowa for all Elementary Education majors. Other responsibilities for this faculty position include coordinating the recruitment, advising, and placing students in the school system for the School Health Teaching minor. Educational Requirements. Required – Master or advanced degree in Health Education or related field, paired with a minimum of three years of PK-12 teaching experience. Preferred 7-10 years of teaching experience in K-12. Required qualification. Demonstrated excellence in teaching health education courses, leadership experience, experience with academic program development and implementation, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity. |
