Harpeth Hall seeks a dynamic, innovative, and culturally-responsive professional to serve as a Middle School Counselor. The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting, demonstrate classroom teaching skills, and possess an enthusiasm and commitment to working with adolescent girls. A master’s degree in counseling or related field is required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching Middle School Life Balance classes
• Counseling students individually and in groups throughout the year
• Attending Middle School Grade Level Lunch Meetings
• Being an active member of the Student Support Team
• Attending Counseling Department Meetings
• Communicating and consulting effectively with parents, via individual meetings, grade level parent meetings, and written correspondence
• Presenting at Grade Level Parent Nights
• Collaborating with teachers and administrators on student issues
• Assisting Counseling Team with Advisory Placements in the summer months (beginning summer of 2022)
• Developing learning opportunities for teachers to better understand how to support students in various situations
• Participating in counseling professional development each year
