Falk School, a coeducational K-8 laboratory school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, seeks an experienced, dynamic School Counselor for the next academic year beginning August 2021. Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience. Falk School, which is affiliated with the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, offers excellent benefits. Candidates should have successful counseling experience in elementary and/or middle level schools. The position involves working with colleagues to co-plan and reflect on developing the K-8 wellness program. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative skills and a willingness to support educational research. Strong oral and written communication skills will be required to communicate effectively with children, teachers, and families. The ideal candidate will also serve as a liaison to community agencies, child psychologists/therapists, and a Falk psychological consultant, which at times involves referrals to needed services. A Master's Degree in counseling (or related field) and Pennsylvania school counseling certification K-8 are preferred. Elementary/middle school experience is advantageous, and interesting work and/or educational experience in the field of psychology and counseling is beneficial for the position. A commitment to restorative practices as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion work are all assets. |
