The school counselor job serves many functions, both educator and therapeutic practitioner who works toward the social-emotional, psychological, and academic success of all students.The Meadows School Counselor advances and upholds the School core values of scholarship, community, and inclusion through direct and indirect services to students in order to prepare them to think critically, act responsibly, and live virtuously and compassionately. The position requires an innovative and open-minded professional with a strong background in supporting pre-adolescents and adolescents in partnership with parents, teachers, administrators, and others. School counselors have committed themselves to promoting the overall health, ethical, and academic well-being of students. Such commitment requires an evolving knowledge of effective school health practices. It also requires compassion and perseverance in the face of a variety of different obstacles.The school counselor will provide direct, indirect, and responsive services in teaching lessons, writing curriculum and support plans as well as responding to immediate student needs. The school counselor should be able to successfully maintain an independent workload while collaborating with Directors, faculty/staff, and parents.
Master's Degree in School Counseling or related
3-5 years experience in school counseling
