Reporting to the Medical Director and Manager, this position is independently responsible for managing the following aspects of the UCI Diabetic EducationProgram: marketing. curricula development. billing. profitability analysis. inventory maintenance. and assessment of current diabetic testing products. The incumbent is a primary representative of the Diabetic Program to the community and to the Joslin Center. The position develops and provides statistical reports to the Medical Director and Manager to inform them of the educational programs' financial status, goals, objectives and progress. This position is also responsible for the following aspects of the Diabetic Education Program. overseeing the development of patient education materials. scheduling psychologsit for group support classes in conjunction with the Padre foundation, and collaborate on health risk appraisals.
Annual Rate $55,700 $85,000 $114,200
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be a Certified Diabetes Educator
Must have prior experience coordinating Diabetes Education Program
Ability to develop curricula for diabetes and coordinate health education programs
Ability to critique other health care educator's class materials
Ability to develop and present to audiences of various sizes
Ability to coordinate and motivate staff
Ability to partner with programs outside of UCI Health
Ability to manage and motivate staff
Ability to conduct profitability analyses to ensure program stays on financial track
Ability to partner with programs outside of UCI
Must be available to work evenings and be on call as required
