School Counselor
Edmund Burke School
The School counselor works with middle and high school students, parents, advisors, teachers and administrators to identify and address any social and emotional issues that arise in individuals or in the wider school community. The Counselor provides individual students ongoing support, short-term individual counseling, referrals to outside therapeutic providers, support groups and emergency psychiatric evaluations. The Counselor provides group support to classrooms to promote healthy communities of learners, helps train new faculty, presents workshops on topics of adolescent development to parents and faculty, and works closely with the Dean of Students, Dean of Middle School, Assistant Head of School for Program, and Learning Specialists to make sure that the emotional well-being of students is always front and center. The Counselor serves on the Head of School’s Administrative Team, the High School Administrative team and the Admissions Committee. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
