The Spire School, a private, co-educational college preparatory day school in Stamford, Connecticut, for students in grades 6–12. Spire is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a Connecticut State-Approved Special Education School seeking a School Counselor or Social Worker with strong clinical skills and experience in college/postsecondary planning. Spire has approximately 50-60 students enrolled and has a well-established team of school leaders, teachers and clinicians who collaborate with a common goal to empower students to achieve their academic potential while supporting their growth into confident and constructive members of their communities who embrace life as a series of exciting challenges and possibilities.
In this position, the successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of teachers and clinicians providing 1:1 support to a small caseload of students in grades 6-12 and implement psychoeducational groups including Executive Functioning, social/emotional adaptation, and academic skills development. The successful candidate will work extensively with IEP development, implementation of goals and objectives, and serve as a key member of the Planning and Placement Team (PPT).

Experience with middle and high school students with social/emotional challenges
CT certified School Social Worker; certified clinical Social Worker, LCSW, or CT certified School Counselor (preference will be given to the candidate with college and postsecondary planning experience)

Experience with CBT, DBT and EF coaching
