The Churchill School and Center is seeking a full-time licensed social worker for grades 6-8 beginning mid-August 2020.
Churchill is seeking a middle school social worker who is collaborative, thoughtful, reflective, and caring. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the 6-person department of Mental Health Support Services within a vibrant and energetic community of educators.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
Embrace and model Churchill’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Health and wellness curriculum development and implementation, including sexuality education
Crisis intervention and additional support as needed
Consultation with teachers and administration
Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Providing parent guidance
Co-facilitating parent support group meetings
Involvement in Emergency Management Team
Collaboration with and making referrals to outside treatment providers/ evaluators
Serving on the middle school admissions team
Providing professional development to Churchill faculty and professional presentations to the parent community
Contributing to IEPs and CSE meetings
The ideal candidate must have their LCSW, experience working with adolescents, and strong interpersonal and clinical skills. Experience working with children with learning disabilities is a plus. Cultural awareness and the ability to connect effectively with diverse populations are paramount.
