Duties of Position: The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education is seeking candidates who can co-teach the HED 250 course – Community Health and Communication. This course continues the exploration of the role of communication in the field of community health work with an emphasis on health behavior change, motivational interviewing, and the use of OARS (open questions, affirmation, reflective listening, and summary reflections). Students will also be introduced to the certification for a direct service provider.
Educational Requirements:At least a Master’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Social Work/Human Services, or related subject with 18 credit hours of graduate-level course work in Health Education required.
Experience Requirements:Three years’ experience in teaching subject matter such as Health Education, Public Health, Social Work/Human Services preferred. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
