Wichita Collegiate School views the school nurse as a leader in the school community who oversee all school health policies and programs. It is up to the school nurse to provide expertise and oversight of school health services and to promote health education.
Because healthy children are successful learners, our school nurse is an advocate for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of all students.
Our School nurse will be expected to routinely perform the following duties:
Provide healthcare to students and staff
Perform health screenings
Coordinate referrals to private healthcare providers
Serve as liaisons between school personnel, family, and community healthcare providers to ensure a healthy school environment.

5+ years of experience in nursing and in particular experience in an educational setting working with young students is preferred.
A current RN license.
A National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) credential is preferred
Proven ability to be collaborative in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects to attend to.
Demonstrated success as a confident problem solver.
Demonstrated success as an effective communicator to multiple constituents in the school community including students, employees and parents.
