Supervisor: Head of the Lower School
Position Status: This position is a salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 10-month position.
Undergraduate degree in Physical Education or related field or discipline; master’s degree preferred.
Significant experience coaching athletes and working with athletic teams and staff
Strong commitment to 21st century instructional strategies and familiarity with National Standards for K-12 Physical Education.
OPPORTUNITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach Lower School PE classes of boys and girls with a team of eleven other physical educators across three divisions
Coach at least two sports, which may be at the junior varsity or varsity level
Serve as a homeroom advisor
Other student supervisor duties as assigned
Additionally, successful candidates should demonstrate:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; and smell. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
