The Awty International School has an opening for the 2020-2021 school year for a Primary School Counselor (social/ emotional) for grades PK3/PS through 5th/CM2. Awty is looking for a talented, experienced and passionate individual who will support the school’s purpose: to inspire learners through academic excellence, cultural diversity and multilingual fluency for a life of global impact.
This is a full-time position with principal duties and responsibilities in the Primary School. The position commences August 2020. The counselor will collaborate with all colleagues engaged with student support services for students in both the French Program and the International Program.
Collaborate and meet regularly with Division Heads
Meet regularly with the Primary School student support team
Liaise with other school counselors across divisions as necessary
Attend a variety of school events
Participate in school trips as necessary
Report to Heads of Primary School

Advanced degree in a mental-health related field (psychology, social work, counseling)
Demonstrated and recognized experience as a Primary School counselor (PK3/PS - 5th/CM2)
Professional certification in mental-health related field (LPC, LCSW, M.Ed., or LSSP)
Experience with developing, coordinating, facilitating and/or teaching a school-wide social emotional learning program
Familiarity with the process of interpretation and application of the results of diagnostic neuro-psychological and psycho-educational
Ability to coordinate support for students and teachers related to a variety of learning needs
Fluent in French
