The Work-Study Assistant, under general supervision, will assist the College of Nursing director and staff in marketing, recruiting, admissions, and student services duties. The student worker will work on marketing and recruiting initiatives, and with college students to locate housing, employment, internships, scholarships, etc.
Maintain office files.
Present to potential students and the community at large about their college experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Junior/senior level nursing student.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with diverse populations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good decision maker
Good computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
Ability to carry out routine duties and responsibilities with little supervision
