Title: Upper School Counselor Job Status: Full-time starting in July for the 2020-2021 school year; Exempt
`Iolani School is seeking a full-time Upper School Support Counselor to support and foster students in grades 7-12. He/She will be responsible to provide personal, social, academic, college, and career counseling and guidance to students. The goal is to enable students to achieve a sense of personal fulfillment in order to make a positive contribution to society.
The Specialized Support Counselor will analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention strategies to assist students who are experiencing academic and personal challenges. The successful candidate must have knowledge of contemporary theories of personality and counseling and the ability to work with a diverse population. Effective communication in a variety of settings, good judgement, and a demonstrated commitment to student support are qualities that we are looking for in a strong applicant.
A Master's degree in Secondary School Counseling and 3-5 years of experience working with students in grades 7-12 is preferred.
