Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of behavioral/mental healthcare, medical education, and leadership. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Pediatrics and/or sub-specialty.
Teaching responsibilities may include developing and implementing a 3-year curriculum for pediatrics residents to build core behavioral/mental healthcare skills for their patients. Such training will prepare residents to assess and manage their patients' basic behavioral/mental health concerns across inpatient or outpatient settings and across general or subspecialty areas of practice. This training will prepare graduates to mitigate this enormous unmet need of children and adolescents and work effectively with specialists in behavioral/mental health to broaden available services. In addition, the DBHEPR will be responsible for developing competencies among selected teaching faculty to support this curriculum across disciplines. The DBHEPR will lead this initiative through partnerships with leaders in Resident Education, Primary Care, Adolescent Medicine, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Pediatric Psychology, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient or outpatient, general pediatrics or sub-specialty depending on the applicant's experience.
