We're a forward-thinking independent school in Greenwich, CT looking to hire a registered nurse. This is a full-time, 10 month role on campus at our Nursery through 8th grade Private School in beautiful backcountry Greenwich, CT.
The right candidate will be certified for First Aid/CPR and hold a CT State License for nursing. In addition, the right candidate will have demonstrated experience working with children.
Providing skilled nursing care in emergencies (first aid for illness/injury).
Providing health appraisals of students and employees.
Maintaining data on accident reports for students, faculty and staff, both paper files and electronically in Veracross.
Implementing and maintaining student compliance with Connecticut State Immunization requirements. Completes mandated surveys and submits forms required by the Town of Greenwich and/or the State of Connecticut.
Administering and/or supervising students approved to self-administer prescribed medication.
Performing special procedures as needed (e.g. Nebulizer treatments, etc.).
Managing communicable disease protocol (health assessment, health alerts to families, maintain communicable disease log book).
Providing individual health counseling as needed.
Referring medical problems to appropriate resources. Follows up on the same.
Maintaining State of Connecticut mandated school health records/immunization records, and School Health records in Veracross. Records/reports on health care concerns as needed.
Serving as a liaison for recording/reporting child abuse with Head of School.
Maintaining retrieval system for faculty/staff re: CPR/First Aid Certifications.
Maintaining faculty/staff health forms and emergency information.
Assisting if necessary to coordinate student health information for field trips.
Sharing knowledge of and serves as liaison to community resources, health, and safety agencies (EMS, Police, Fire Department).
Serving as liaison between home/school regarding health concerns.
Making observations of students in classes and outdoor activities to provide support to faculty concerning health and safety procedures.
Coordinating annual CPR and First-Aid training to Faculty and Staff.
Supporting the school administration in the implementation of OSHA regulations, Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Protocol Policy and Whitby Emergency Response Manual.
Participating in activities to promote the school and nursing professional development.
Maintaining care of AED’S
Performing Summer Camp duties as assigned including nurse coverage for the hours camp is in progress.
Participate in the life of the school providing support for school related activities and events as requested by the Head of School or Assistant Head of School.
Attendall faculty/staff meetings and any other special programs as requested by theHead of School or Assistant Head of School.
Prepare goals and objectives annually and participates in staff evaluation; secures the resources necessary to support the development of individual professional development goals.
Actively engage in professional development activities in collaboration with other members of the staff and on an individual basis.
Model effective communication and supports a positive work environment through professional conduct and maintaining confidentiality.
Abide by all employment policies as indicated in the contract and the Employee handbook.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School or Assistant Head of School.
