About the position
The counselor is part of a collaborative, cross-divisional, team-based structure with a high level of communication and collegiality. Active participation in a faculty culture of continuous learning, professional development, and intellectual growth is expected and supported.

In particular, the counselor will:
provide counseling to students in the fifth through eighth grade
facilitate group and individual student meetings
perform classroom observations and provide support to faculty
meet with parents/guardians
participate in the teaching of character education, life skills, and health
oversee management of evaluations and referrals
serve on the student support and guidance team
work in coordination with counselors, learning consultants, and occupational therapist in a multi-disciplinary, team approach that focuses on early interventions
meet regularly with the middle school division head.
offer faculty professional development and parent education
Candidates should have prior experience working in a school setting.
A master’s degree (or greater) in counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
