Major Duties: - Teach a variety of school health courses in the Physical Education/School Health program.- Supervise intern teachers in area school districts.- Provide evidence of meeting CAEP standards.- Advise undergraduate and graduate students.- Conduct research and secure internal and external funding.- Serve on department, college, and university committees.- Additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Minimum Qualifications: - Doctoral degree of School Health and/or physical education required from an accredited institution. - ABD candidates will be considered; Doctoral degree is required within six months of employment.- Applied knowledge of national/state health education standards, theoretical instructional practices applied to teacher education and health literacy, and evaluation strategies for health education/literacy content and skills.- Ability to teach a variety of courses in school health.- Interest in teaching online courses.- Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills.
