The Awty International School has an immediate opening for a secondary school counselor (social/emotional) for grades six through twelve. This is a full-time position with principal duties and responsibilities in the secondary school with duties commencing ideally on July 1, 2019. The counselor’s responsibilities will be for International Program students and she/he will collaborate regularly with bilingual counseling colleagues in service of French Program students.
Collaborate and meet regularly with Division Heads
Liaise with Primary School and French Program Counselors
Attend a variety of school events
Participate in annual Fall Trips overnight

BA or equivalent in counseling field
Demonstrated experience with commendations as a secondary school counselor
Advanced degree with professional certification as a counselor (LPC, LCSW, M.Ed., or LSSP)
Experience with developing and coordinating a school social education program, SEL
Social program teaching experience
Familiarity with diagnostic educational testing
Ability to coordinate support for variety of learning needs
Has an additional language – preferably Spanish or French
