This is a fulltime, career position, working on the US Pointer Study, a multidomain behavioral intervention trial to prevent cognitive decline sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association. The Health Education Supervisor 1 oversees the study intervention program at the Northern California site. Additionally, the Health Education Supervisor 1 ensures that participants are appropriately completing their assigned lifestyle intervention, which will include physical exercise, a healthy diet, intellectual and social stimulation, and management of vascular risk factors (e.g., hypertension).REQUIRED-Master degree in education, public health, exercise sciences, basic sciences or a relevant clinical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.-Two or more years of experience in clinical research processes that involve implementing non-pharmacological or other interventions, supervision of data collection procedures and training of staff members.-Experience supervising clinical research staff.-Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices and procedures, formulate logical and objective conclusions and make recommendations for effective solutions. -Experience working with computer systems and databases, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, electronic medical records, and electronic data capture systems for clinical research.-Communication skills to convey factual information; to engage in collaborative problem-solving and negotiation with staff and colleagues. -Organizational skills in setting priorities, following through on assigned tasks and adhering to deadlines in a timely manner.-Ability to independently exercise judgment, initiative and resourcefulness in making decisions.-Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills to effectively correspond with the general public, co-workers, physicians, study participants, clinic staff and other health care professionals.-Problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills. -Skills and experience to work with confidential information.-Skills to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team leader in a diverse workforce.
