Nemours is seeking a Personal Trainer (Casual/PRN), 1 to 5 hours/week to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.

Ranked among the nation’s best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and honored with the ANCC’s Magnet Designation for excellence in nursing practice, we offer intensive and acute inpatient and outpatient services covering more than 30 pediatric specialties. We recently completed a multi-phase hospital expansion that includes new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Additionally, Nemours duPont Pediatrics allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.
Under the direct supervision of the Wellness Manager, the Personal Trainer is responsible for the client's physical assessments, exercise prescription and motivation as well as policy enforcement, record keeping and delivering excellent customer service at all times to every member.
Typical hours for this position: PRN (as needed), Mon – Fri. Will schedule clients by appointments, will work weekends as needed to meet client and department needs. This position is on a 1099 basis.
Schedules and administers Fitness Assessments to new and existing clients at least three times per year and keeps a record in clients' file.
Develops individualized exercise programs - Based on assessment results and client goals, prescribes individual exercise programs guidelines.
Trainer’s log - Maintains a record in trainer’s log of past and present clients’ attendance and payments.
Current information and promotions - Maintains current information on all fitness center programs, services, and activities and promotes regularly to members to motivate and enhance consistency and member retention.
Exercise equipment Maintenance - Follows established procedure when exercise equipment is found to be malfunctioning in an effort to get the equipment operational within 24 hours. This involves posting of the appropriate status signage, notifying the Wellness Manager, Wellness Coordinator, or Director of Employee Health & Wellness and recording the problem in the equipment log.
High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, physical education or other related discipline preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience required.
Personal Training Certification/License Title: Accepted certifications: American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and/or National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Personal Training Liability Insurance required.
CPR – AED Certification required.
Experience in the administration of physical assessments, exercise prescriptions and program development.
Basic computer operational skills preferred.
Excellent communication and customer services skills required.
Ability to work variable hour’s necessary.
Possess a professional attitude and appearance.
Must be capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications.
